Laura Sheets, partner at Liddle Sheets P.C., has 25 years of experience fighting for the rights of victims of pollution and corporate greed.

Laura has been a constant advocate for thousands of people who have been damaged by a neighboring company’s emissions. She has secured compensation for nuisance damages and for loss in value to the homeowners’ property. Significantly, in functionally all of her resolved environmental claims, Laura has also been able to ensure that the offending polluters implement improvements to their operations. These improvements have resulted in decreased emissions from the polluters and have improved the quality of life for neighboring residents.

Laura has served as lead or co-lead class counsel in numerous cases involving pollution of the air or water from numerous sources, including  rendering facilities, oil pipelines, manufacturing facilities, and landfills.

Recently, Laura launched the firm's filing of several nuisance cases across the country against data centers alleging that the noise from the data centers is interfering with residents' ability to use and enjoy their property and negatively impacting property values.  Laura filed what is believed to be the country's first nuisance case against a data center for creating a neighborhood nuisance for emitting excessive noise.  The case, Valenzuela et al. v. Alliance Cloud Services, Case 1:26-cv-01694-PLM-PJG, is currently pending in the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan.

Laura and the firm have since filed three additional nuisance cases against data centers in New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Wisconsin.   Laura continues to actively investigate additional claims of noise against other data centers and has also been approached by residents all over the country who have complaints about odors, air pollution and water contamination from neighboring data centers.  Laura is also working with residents who are actively challenging local ordinances or zoning permits relating to the construction of data centers.
